Typically, we receive run-of-the-mill requests for fire, water, and mold restoration work, but an unusual job came to our office recently. A retired couple discovered mold and fire damage in their Southeast Raleigh home.

The damage created a combination of mold, soot, and other contaminants, contributing to the couple’s health problems.

Since the damage was more extensive than anticipated, all hands were on deck to restore the couple’s home as quickly and efficiently as possible. Local charity organizations, medical professionals, and an industrial hygienist participated in the project.

A Tale of Fire and Mold

With the home cleared out, we were better able to assess the damage that had been caused by fire and smoke. We secured the premises using tarps and board-ups to ensure the property wasn’t accessible to intruders. Then, we turned our attention to treating and eliminating all traces of mold.

We thoroughly disinfected, sanitized, and cleaned all the affected areas during the mold removal process. We also deodorized the fixtures and structures throughout the house. Our experienced crew used high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filtration devices to clean all materials and used professional-grade disinfectants for places our equipment couldn’t reach.
