Recently, we performed fire damage restoration in a condominium building in Columbus, OH.

One of the condominium’s residents was a retired woman. The unfortunate incident caused her to become displaced. With no access to a vehicle or nearby relatives to offer housing, we were overcome by the woman’s circumstances and assisted her throughout the relocation process.

We picked her up from her motel, where she was temporarily staying, and brought her to the condo. While there, she could collect her personal items, decide what she wanted to keep and discard, and what things she wanted to take.

We finished with a truck’s worth of photos, books, and other items of personal significance that we carefully organized to transport back to her motel.

Then, we ran a few necessary errands with her. We first stopped by the post office so she could check her mail and then the market to purchase some groceries to bring back to her motel room.

Ultimately, what we initially anticipated as a 30-minute undertaking turned into a three-hour visit. It was worth every minute, however. Our generosity profoundly touched the woman during a stressful time in her life. We were truly honored that we were able to go the extra mile for a member of our community!
