Salvaging the Contents After the Apartment Fire
First, we want to acknowledge and appreciate the military service of the client. He served in the United States Army in the Vietnam War, and he continues to live a life of honor as a veteran. We are thankful for his service.
The fire affected the entire apartment complex, and unfortunately, the client’s unit was severely impacted. As a result of the apartment fire damage, he was forced to move out immediately, leaving his home behind. He had many personal artifacts including some from his time of service that he hoped could be saved. He turned to us to help recover and restore whatever contents could be salvaged.
After a fire, smoke and soot are often the longest-lasting effects on the property that survived the initial blaze. The odors and stains can be difficult to remove, especially without the assistance of restoration professionals. We perform what is called a “pack-out”, which is a process in which we go on-site to determine which items can be salvaged. After taking inventory, we safely transport the personal effects to an off-site storage facility where we clean and restore their condition.
The client was ultimately forced to find a new place to live because the fire damage was too substantial to restore the apartment. As he searches for a new home, we are continuing to store all of the items for him, safely. We are in contact with the customer, while also being a liaison to the insurance company during each step. The client is delighted that we are taking care of him and his belongings.
