PuroClean Takes on Mushroom Growth for Curious Client

A friendly and inquisitive client called us in mid-March 2021 to report he had mushroom growth from his laundry room’s ceiling. He had originally called another company who told him they would return his call and didn’t. When he reached out to PuroClean, he was frustrated with the fungus in his home and the lack of communication from the other company. We were ready to rectify both problems for him.

We immediately scheduled a visit for the next week to evaluate the situation. The homeowner lives on the east side of the island in Kaneohe where it is humid and it frequently rains, so we were not surprised to find the mushroom growth. We first had to contain the affected areas and get to the root of the problem. From there we had to remove the mushrooms, and then clean, sanitize, and dry all of the affected surfaces to avoid further mushroom growth or any other fungal growth.

It took five months to complete the job, but throughout the entire process, we kept in near-constant communication with the homeowner. He was very kind and easy to work with, and he wanted to know and understand everything that was happening on his property. He often called with questions and an apology for asking them. We emphasized that his questions were never a bother, and we were more than happy to answer everything and walk him through the steps. It’s what we do and we love it! In the end, we took care of the mushroom growth and were able to satisfy our client’s hunger for knowledge.
