Hope During Hardship: PuroClean of Lafayette Featured in Journal Review for Disaster Assistance Program

We’ve been a mainstay in our community for years, providing restoration services to our neighbors during stressful times. Recently, thanks to our involvement with the Disaster Assistance Program in Montgomery County, the Journal Review featured us in an article about our contributions to the program.

The Backstory

In 2021, Brian Bechtel, Crawfordsville Fire Department’s assistant chief, reached out to us about our post-fire damage restoration service, specifically temporary board-ups. Bechtel explained that his team had encountered situations where homeowners lacked insurance or the financial means to properly secure their homes after a fire, leaving them in dangerous and smoke-filled environments to protect their belongings.

Bechtel’s goal was to secure a state grant to create a “slush fund” that could pay companies like PuroClean of Lafayette to board up these homes. Voilà! The Disaster Assistance Program for Montgomery County was born.

Through this program, we have provided critical assistance to those in need. We’ve boarded up homes and secured them against further damage, allowing homeowners to focus on rebuilding their lives after a fire.
