Restoring the West Lafayette Home

A gas explosion in a West Lafayette neighborhood set a row of 5 homes ablaze. After the fire department was able to ensure the safety of all residents and pets and extinguish the flames, one of the homeowners called us to help mitigate the damage and mend the wounds of the fire. Our crew quickly arrived on-site to inspect the damage.

Thankfully, the home we were called to work on only sustained minor damage after the blaze. Oddly enough, there were no signs of smoke damage to the house, but the wall facing the explosion was not as lucky. Before we could make permanent repairs, we temporarily tarped the side and roofline of the home. We also added wood scaffolding to the side to make sure it did not collapse during our repairs. The fire had left exposures in the siding, and the areas that remained were charred and melted.

We then repaired the siding of the home and the soffit, which is the material that covers the underside of the roof overhang. The fascia, which is the band under a roof edge, was also replaced during this process. The damage from the fire even affected the window, which our team replaced to complete the repair of the entire wall. Lastly, our team replaced the AC unit to complete the restoration.
