Reconstructing and Renovating A Boswell Home After A Massive Dryer Fire

Fire Restoration

Back in March of this year, a fire broke out in the home of a family in Boswell. The blaze started in the laundry room when the dryer caught fire, and the house was severely damaged. Even worse, one of the homeowners was injured in the fire, but thankfully, he fully recovered within a few days. Once the family knew he was no longer in danger, they turned to us to help rebuild what they had lost.

Rising From The Ashes

The client who sustained the injuries was an employee of our sister company, Poisel Construction, who lives with his wife and their four sons. Thankfully, his parents lived next door, giving them a place to stay during the reconstruction process. We completely stripped the house to the studs, which was one of the first full gut and reconstruction jobs for our franchise.

It can feel very overwhelming to clients when they go through something like this, and this case was no exception. The clients placed their trust in our franchise owner, Jessica, specifically for colors, cabinets, flooring, etc. Jessica’s experience has made her our reconstruction guru, and the clients felt more comfortable knowing she had their backs.

The client had just a few requests (including cutting in a back door for the home, a smaller living room picture window, and removing half a kitchen wall to make the living space more open). One, in particular, was that nothing could be white in the house because their four sons tend to be a bit messy, and keeping white clean would be difficult. Jessica rolled with the requests, and the home turned out amazing and surpassed all the client’s expectations!

We had many time constraints – with the current market for materials, cabinets for kitchen and bath, countertops for kitchen, and flooring was all a very long wait time. The final inspection and walk-through weren’t until October 19th. The family moved back in the next day!

The client and her boys were also able to help us out with small cleaning jobs during the reconstruction to save her a few dollars, which were very helpful to our process. During summer break, her boys helped our contractors and techs carry tools, hold materials and do some minor cleaning up. They were a fantastic help!

As a welcome home present for the family, our marketing manager, Jessica Fishero, did some shopping for some essential household goods such as laundry detergent, fabric softener, dish soap, cleaning supplies, toothpaste, trash bags, body washes, and shampoos & conditioners that would make moving in a little easier.
