What Qualifies as Water Damage?
Water damage is one of the most devastating events that can happen to a home. Whether it’s a pipe burst, a sump pump failure (video), a leaky water heater, an overflowing toilet, dishwasher or fridge, one thing’s for sure- it’s a huge event that will throw a wrench into anyone’s life.
In our Matawan, NJ, location, most calls involve pipe leaks and failed sump pumps. The affected areas often include flooring/carpeting and parts of drywall.

Call a Restoration Company.
We recently experienced a water loss right in our office. As usual, we knew exactly what to do. Luckily, because we caught it early, we were able to dry our carpet and drywall in place. We use moisture meters to map out and control the affected areas and run air movers and dehumidifiers to remove moisture from air and surfaces.
The industry standard is to run all the machines for three days straight in order to ensure proper drying. The restoration technicians come in regularly to monitor the drying progress. It’s worth noting, that while sometimes it’s possible to dry the elements in place, there are times when we have no choice but to rip out and discard the affected drywall and flooring!
