Individuals who are in close contact with one another (within about 6 feet) are the most likely to spread COVID-19 in a “person-to-person” manner. Small respiratory droplets projected through coughing or sneezing produce tiny droplets that can land on the nose or mouth or be breathed into the lungs of someone nearby. This is most commonly how COVID-19 spreads quickly. Therefore, it is thought that person-to-person is the most common way the disease spreads.
As stated by the CDC, there is a possibility that someone can contract COVID-19 by touching a surface or object with the virus on it and then placing their hand on their own mouth, nose, or even their eyes.
We first will come in and provide a full assessment of your office or home. We decide on the level of containment needed and discuss the plan of action with you.
PuroClean technicians will arrive at your home or business and perform an initial walkthrough to confirm that the premises are ready for our cleaning. The technicians will map out a plan for the flow of work and conduct the full cleaning as effectively as possible.
While Puroclean is performing biohazard removal, full attention and adherence to safety, industry, and OSHA standards is highly important. Also, our biohazard removal is addressed by technicians who will wear appropriate protective equipment, also known as PPE (Personal Protective Equipment). The technicians will section off the areas to undergo the cleaning process, using caution so as to protect customers, their families, and PuroClean employees.
PPE is required to be worn by our cleanup technicians. This equipment includes Nitrile gloves, shoe covers, Biohazard protective coveralls, and a full-face respirator. The respirator mask provides protection from splashing that would possibly reach the mucous membranes in the eyes, nose and mouth
Our extensively trained and certified technicians use EPA-registered hospital-grade disinfectant products, such as towelettes, containing pharmaceutical ingredients that meet OSHA’s bloodborne pathogen standard against diseases like COVID-19 and other disease-causing bacteria, viruses, tuberculosis, mold, and mildew.
The cleaning materials our technicians typically use include:
EPA-registered as well as hospital grade disinfectants are applied during this process. Depending on the circumstances, we commonly use these methods:
Synthetic carpets, rugs, curtains, and upholstery – Our technicians will either manually clean or, for machine cleaning, they will apply approved disinfectants compatible with the cleaning of textiles and carpets and then extract where needed.
Natural fabrics, rugs, curtains, and upholstery must be cleaned in accordance with the manufacturer’s guidelines.
Important: Washing machines should always be disinfected after contaminated items are washed. For the disinfecting of clothing, linens and other personal fabrics, contaminated pieces are to be laundered following instructions on every label.
Tanned leather items – We can wash these materials by wiping the surfaces with a cloth lightly moistened with disinfectant solution or disinfectant towelettes.
Suede and Nu-buck leather items – Cleaned according to manufacturer’s guidelines.
Concrete, cinder block, wood, plywood, and oriented strand board (OSB) – Cleaned by placing the disinfectant solution directly onto the surface.
HVAC System: Industry guidelines should be obeyed for the cleaning of HVAC internal ducts surfaces and components; by a licensed HVAC contractor or NADCA certified duct cleaner. Also, the external ductwork, registers, grates, grills and surfaces are to be washed using a disinfectant solution.
Normally, when the affected location has been cleaned and starts to dry, the odors will disappear. Our technicians will decide, however, whether any more deodorization is required.
We understand that a biohazard event can be stressful and sensitive and must be handled with empathy, care and discretion. PuroClean restoration professionals are fully licensed and certified to follow all applicable laws and standards to remediate incidents safely.
RESPECTFUL: Our certified biohazard cleaning technicians treat every affected area and item professionally and respectfully, as if it were their own.
HIGHEST STANDARDS: PuroClean uses proven products approved to provide protection, prevent contamination and reduce the risk of spreading dangerous pathogens.
ADVANCED CLEANING SYSTEM: PuroClean RapidDefense is an effective procedure used to start the sanitization process of public places in the most effective and safe way possible. Our process uses disinfectants that help prevent virus and other pathogen-based contamination in areas close by.
Prior to leaving a site that has been contaminated with the coronavirus, our technicians will do a thorough cleaning of all equipment and tools used in the cleaning process for coronavirus with an EPA-registered hospital-grade disinfectant.
Per the CDC, Cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched objects and surfaces are the recommended actions to help prevent the spread of respiratory diseases, like coronavirus. Since any surface can be re-contaminated after cleaning, and because the coronavirus is also spread person-to-person, PuroClean’s services are not guaranteed to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html) for more information regarding coronavirus, its spread, and prevention.
