The 2021–2022 Boulder County fires in Colorado were one of the most devastating wildfires in recent years. The fires burned 6,026 acres of land, destroying 1,084 buildings and affecting thousands of other properties. At least six people were injured, and one was reported missing. After such a disaster, enormous efforts are required to bring properties and lives back to normal.
PuroClean sends restoration experts to help with the Boulder County fires restoration efforts
At PuroClean of Orland Park, we regularly travel across the United States to help communities return to normal after significant events like these.
We sent two different fire damage restoration crews to Colorado to help families and property owners affected by the Boulder County fires. On January 8, we sent one of our project managers, Mitch McKnight, with five crew members for assessing the damage at multiple affected properties.
After a week of assessing the initial damage, we realized our fire damage cleanup services will be needed in Colorado for the long haul. However, Mitch had to return home to his family, so we brought him back to Illinois on January 16. He and his crew successfully completed four restoration jobs while he was there.
Once Mitch returned, we sent another of our excellent project managers, Arnold Donato. Arnold and his crew of five technicians stayed in Colorado for over a month, completing nine jobs — seven fire damage cleanups and two reconstructions.
Assisting families across Boulder County — the highlights
One of our most notable customers in Colorado was a local property owner in Louisville, CO who owns multiple units. Two of her properties experienced minor-to-moderate damage and debris after the wildfire. She initially hired us to mitigate one unit, but after seeing our stellar work, she hired us for an additional unit one week later.
Another customer and her elderly mother were blown away by the difference we made. They had a blown-out window that caused damage in the master bed and bathroom, as well as some heavy soot and debris in their garage. Our crew completed the remediation job within three days of acquiring work authorization.
Finally, another customer repeatedly expressed how grateful they were that we took their call. They said they had called several companies in the area but kept getting turned away due to the high call volumes after the wildfire.
All in all, we assisted 11 families in Boulder County. We want to thank Mitch, Arnold, and their teams for their astounding work. They signed a total of 13 jobs, which they completed quickly and efficiently.
