“Coronavirus” is an umbrella term for many types of viruses that have been known to cause respiratory diseases in both people and animals. The 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19; previously 2019-nCoV) is a new strain that has been recently discovered and publicized worldwide. PuroClean of Palm Desert uses the PuroClean RapidDefense™ system to provide deep mitigation cleaning in areas compromised by a Coronavirus or Influenza outbreak. Using this process, the team at PuroClean of Palm Desert will carefully contain the area and will minimize the risk of pathogens spreading using The Environmental Protection Agency-registered (EPA) products. If there are any lingering odors, our trained technicians will deodorize the area and return your Palm Desert, CA area property back to its pre-loss condition with empathy and care.
As the coronavirus pandemic continues to spread and health and government officials notify people to take necessary measures to protect themselves, one of the best ways to slow its progression is by performing deep mitigation cleaning of all touch-point surfaces, while also using an EPA-registered disinfectant. These cleaning procedures can be used for institutions, commercial, and residential properties. Our coronavirus cleanup services will aid in minimizing contamination related to the COVID-19 outbreak. Call your local PuroClean office for more information on how we can help clean your affected area.
The virus is thought to spread mainly from person-to-person. This includes individuals who are close to one another (within about 6 feet) and through respiratory droplets becoming airborne when an infected person coughs or sneezes. These droplets can land in the mouths or noses of those who are nearby or possibly be breathed into the lungs.
There is a possibility that COVID-19 can be contracted when an individual physically touches a surface or object with the virus present and then touches their mouth or nose. The CDC reports that this type of spreading is highly likely.
We start out by completing a full assessment of your home or office premises. We then decide what level of containment you should have and relay the action plan to you.
Initially, Puroclean professionals will arrive at your home or business and perform a preliminary inspection to ensure the area is prepared for our cleaning services. Following this, the workflow is determined by our technicians, in order to complete the project as quickly as possible.
It is of extreme importance to work with biohazard removal while also paying close attention to safety, industry and OSHA standards and guidelines. Our trained technicians wear specific Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to keep themselves safe. PuroClean will also contain the area, taking the appropriate steps to keep you and your loved ones or employees safe as well.
First, wearing proper PPE is required. Our cleanup technicians wear a full-face respirator to guard against airborne bacteria coming in contact with the mucous membranes of the mouth, nose, or eyes. They also wear Biohazard protective coveralls, shoe covers, and Nitrile gloves.
Our extensively trained and certified technicians use EPA-registered hospital-grade disinfectant products, such as towelettes, with pharmaceutical ingredients that adhere to OSHA’s bloodborne pathogen standard against diseases like COVID-19 and other disease-causing bacteria, viruses, tuberculosis, mold, and mildew.
The most common cleaning materials used by our technicians include:
Depending on the circumstances, Puroclean technicians apply hospital grade and EPA-registered disinfectants using three methods.
Synthetic rugs, carpets, curtains, and upholstery: Our Technicians will clean these items manually or by machine cleaning. Appropriate disinfectants for the appropriate cleaning of the textiles and carpet will be applied for the cleaning; extraction will be done where needed.
Natural fabrics, curtains, upholstery, and rugs need cleaning that is in following with the guidelines of the manufacturer.
Important: Washing machines should always be disinfected after contaminated items are washed. For the disinfecting of clothing, linens, and other personal fabrics, contaminated pieces are to be laundered per instructions on each label.
Tanned leather items – We can wash these materials by wiping the surfaces with a cloth lightly moistened with disinfectant solution or disinfectant towelettes.
Suede and Nu-buck leather items – Cleaned according to manufacturer’s guidelines.
Concrete, cinder block, wood, plywood, and oriented strand board (OSB) – Cleaned by placing the disinfectant solution directly onto the surface.
HVAC system – External ductwork surfaces, grills, grates, and registers should be cleaned with a disinfectant solution. HVAC internal duct surfaces and components should be cleaned in accordance with industry instructions by a licensed HVAC technician or NADCA certified duct cleaning professional.
It is common for odors to dissipate once the affected areas are cleaned and begin to dry. However, our trained professionals will decide if further cleaning and deodorization is required.
We understand that a biohazard event can be sensitive and stressful and must be handled with empathy, care, and discretion. PuroClean restoration professionals are fully licensed and certified to follow all applicable laws and standards to remediate incidents safely.
RESPECTFUL: Our certified biohazard cleaning technicians treat every affected area and item respectfully and professionally, as if it were their own.
HIGHEST STANDARDS: PuroClean uses products that are approved to provide protection, prevent contamination, and reduce the risk of spreading dangerous pathogens.
ADVANCED CLEANING SYSTEM: PuroClean RapidDefense is an effective procedure used to start the sanitization process of public areas in the most effective and safe way possible. Our system uses disinfectants that help prevent virus and other pathogen-based contamination in nearby areas.
Prior to vacating a project location in which the coronavirus had contaminated, the PuroClean technicians will perform a full and complete cleansing of all equipment, tools, and PPE that were used for the coronavirus cleanup using an EPA-registered hospital-grade disinfectant.
Per the CDC, Cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched objects and surfaces are the recommended actions to help prevent the spread of respiratory diseases, like coronavirus. Since any surface can be re-contaminated after cleaning, and because the coronavirus is also spread person-to-person, PuroClean’s services are not guaranteed to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html) for more information regarding coronavirus, its spread, and prevention.
