PuroClean Mold Remediation Services

Mold can develop when materials are allowed to remain wet for extended periods of time. There are a variety of reasons the moisture intrusion can happen including but not limited to:

  • Construction defects
  • Plumbing failures
  • Appliance water line or drain line breaks
  • Improper maintenance
  • Weather-related issues including storms and hurricanes

When mold damage is discovered in your home or business, the most critical course of action is to have it remediated as quickly as possible and ensure structural materials remaining are dried as quickly as possible.

PuroClean’s IICRC-certified technicians follow industry standards to remediate mold that has infected and or damaged property the right way. Our goal is to return your home or business to a pre-loss condition by taking the following steps.

  1. Establish a scope of remediation and repair by thoroughly inspecting the affected area/s.
  2. Implement engineering controls and containment to prevent cross-contamination of unaffected areas of the building by utilizing negative pressures with HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) air filtration devices.
  3. Develop a remediation protocol to remove contaminates by:
    • Removing compromised materials and contents per industry standards.
    • Thoroughly clean the air by using HEPA air filters devices and HEPA vacuums.
    • Thoroughly clean all surfaces with cleaning solutions that may include EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) registered disinfectants, followed HEPA vacuuming all surfaces again.
    • Once remediation is complete, it is recommended to have a Certified Industrial Hygienist complete a 3rd part clearance test to ensure the building is safe for occupancy. A good source to find a CIH is through ACGIH.org website.

We can provide a complete estimate, including photos, to the agent or adjuster within 24-48 hours. Our commitment to excellence means that you can expect effective, ongoing communication and reporting from us.

Each independently owned and operated PuroClean franchise works with indoor environmental professionals (IEPs) and laboratories in an effort to protect you and your family from potentially dangerous mold situations. PuroClean professionals are trained, IICRC certified, ready to mitigate mold losses and meet every challenge with professionalism, reliability, compassion, and respect.

Most Common Reasons For Mold Removal In Your Property

Construction Defects

Construction defects compromise a property’s structural integrity and create the perfect conditions for mold, necessitating mold remediation. A poorly constructed or sealed building can lead to excessive moisture and water leakage, creating an ideal environment for mold to flourish. Cracks in the foundation, incorrectly installed windows, inadequate insulation, and insufficient ventilation can all contribute to water intrusion, enabling mold growth.

Plumbing Failures

Plumbing failures, like leaks or blockages, lead to mold growth in a property. When water from these issues seeps into walls or floors, it creates a perfect environment for mold to thrive. When airborne mold spores collide with the excess moisture, it can result in mold colonies. If plumbing problems are not addressed promptly, mold will take hold and require professional mold remediation.

Appliance Failures

Malfunctioning appliances, like leaky dishwashers or water heaters, ice maker and washing machine water supply lines, can lead to mold growth on a property. When water seeps into hidden, poorly lit surfaces, such as behind walls, it creates the perfect conditions for mold to develop. That’s why timely maintenance and inspections of your appliances are critical, as their failure can quickly cause mold growth that requires mold remediation services.

Improper Property Maintenance

Neglecting property maintenance can lead to mold growth. Ignoring leaks, plumbing issues, poor ventilation, or roof drainage concerns can not only lead to mold proliferation, but also be uninsurable. Not performing regular routine maintenance can be a primary reason for insurance companies to deny a claim related to water intrusion.

Other Reasons for Mold Removal and Remediation in Your Property

Roof Leaks

Roof leaks can cause water to infiltrate your property, potentially causing mold to grow in your home or business. Often, the water will seep into an attic or dark crevice of your roof, enabling mold growth. If the problem is not detected in time, mold can spread, causing structural damage. Mold damage caused by roof leaks requires immediate attention.

Weather-Related Incidents

Heavy rains, flooding, or excessive moisture caused by storms can create a breeding ground for mold. When water infiltrates homes or buildings, particularly in places where it shouldn’t linger, it sets the stage for mold spores to thrive and multiply. Even after the storm subsides, the moisture in walls, floors, and other structural elements can initiate a silent but potentially damaging mold invasion. Prompt action is necessary to remediate the mold.

Excessive Humidity

Excessive humidity is the ultimate breeding ground for mold growth. When humidity levels exceed 60% RH or higher, especially in enclosed spaces, the air becomes saturated with moisture and result in conditions that can allow mold growth. Areas like bathrooms, basements, crawlspaces, or poorly ventilated rooms are particularly susceptible. High humidity also inhibits proper drying, allowing mold to spread further.
