Society has always had a rather interesting relationship with bats. Yes, they inspired one of our greatest comic book heroes …and they might also be a contributing factor to the origin of COVID-19. The bat giveth and the bat taketh away. Recently, one bat gave a little too much and left droppings at a Reno townhouse. Combine that with a growing mold infestation, and the residents turned to PuroClean to remediate this biohazard infestation.

Providing Mold and Biohazard Cleaning

To begin, we found out the residents of the home struggle with Lyme Disease. Under normal circumstances, mold and biohazardous materials can create harmful health effects to humans. But, with this pre-existing condition, they are more acutely at-risk. So, we knew our remediation needed to be heavily detailed to not let any potentially harmful particles linger.

We began the cleanup process by focusing on the mold on the inside of the townhouse. The air-gap in the underside of the kitchen counter hosted noticeable microbial growth. Other areas included the shower enclosures, the grout, and even the ceiling.

This process actually took 4 days due to the detailed nature of the restoration. We needed to wait for the sanitizing materials to dry in one area before carrying out any other subsequent work. And, we were extra cautious due to the clients’ mold-sensitivity. We inspected every little nook and cranny to identify and eliminate any trace of spores.

Then, we moved to the outside of the residence where some winged-rodents had left behind some guano. It might not have been the most glamorous part of the job, but we gladly cleaned up the mess. In the end, we were honored to be able to help out this family and make their living space safe again.
