Our Story

The City of Roanoke is nestled in Virginia’s the Blue Ridge Mountains.  Nicknamed the “Star City of the South”, Roanoke is the recreational, cultural, and business hub of the Blue Ridge Mountains area.

Roanoke boasts a collection of entertainment offerings, sites, and activities. Chief among these sites is the neon landmark Roanoke Star (also known as the Mill Mountain Star) which sits overlooking the city from the summit of Mill Mountain. The park area that surrounds Mill Mountain is home to trails, picnic areas, mountain biking, and hiking trails, blueways and water trails for paddling, and the Mill Mountain Zoo

Downtown Roanokeā€™s offerings include the Taubman Museum of Art, the Historic Roanoke City Market, which was established in 1882 and is the longest continuous use farmer’s market in Virginia, and the locomotive collection at the Virginia Museum of Transportation

If you are looking for a bite to eat, you can visit the Texas Tavern diner which was founded in 1930.
