San Diego Resident Gets Rapid Start to New Restoration Business, Deploying to Texas for Winter Storm Uri Support During Opening Week

Tyrone O. Thomas Jr. Opens PuroClean of Clairemont, CA; Team of Trained, Certified Technicians Now Available for 24/7 Service Calls, Aiding in Water, Fire, Mold, and Biohazard Removal

SAN DIEGO – (May 11, 2021) – The opening of San Diego resident Tyrone O. Thomas Jr.’s new PuroClean restoration business got off to a unique start earlier this year when Winter Storm Uri wreaked havoc on the State of Texas.  Despite being in final preparations of opening his California-based PuroClean business, Thomas heeded an urgent call for help, immediately switched gears, and headed to the Fort Worth area.  There he joined his fellow PuroClean owners to help communities impacted by broken pipes and flooded homes. Now, Thomas, the newly designated “Paramedic of Property Damage,” is back home and in full swing with his own PuroClean operation, servicing the San Diego communities of Clairemont, Kearny, Mesa, Linda Vista, University City, La Jolla, Pacific Beach, and Mission Beach.  He will lead a team of highly trained technicians to help property owners with water, fire, mold, and biohazard removal, including COVID-19 cleaning.

“I started my career in the home remediation industry because I have always had the passion and desire for helping others,” said Thomas. “Having gone straight from training at PuroClean Academy to showing up in Texas to give a helping hand as first responders in devastated communities, my team and I were moved on seeing how people’s lives truly can change overnight.  We were proud to fulfill PuroClean’s philosophy of servant leadership through our work during Winter Storm Uri, and we returned home even more committed to being there 24/7 for our own local communities, providing assistance in every way we possibly can.” 

Born and raised in San Diego, Thomas earned his business degree from San Diego Mesa College. Throughout his career, Thomas worked in the environmental safety, construction, and restoration industries. Over the last nine years, he fast-tracked his way through the restoration industry, starting as a technician and advancing to project manager, then supervisor, and then production manager. 

Tyrone’s brother, Sean Thomas, joins him with nine years of experience in the environmental health and safety industry. Similar to his brother, Sean has spent two years working in the restoration industry and holds a Certified Healthcare Safety Profession (CHSP) certification. Also a member of the team is Tyrone’s fiancé, Marife Jarillo, who will serve as office manager.
