PuroClean of Stuart 
In June, a select group of PuroClean franchise owners traveled to PuroClean Headquarters in Tamarac, FL. They arrived to participate in the inaugural Microbial Warrior class; Karen and Brian Argus, owners of PuroClean of Stuart. This class entails a 3 1/2 day intensive training program unlike any other in the industry. During this instruction, Karen, Brian, and the rest of the class honed their skills for the comprehensive response and remediation to situations and structures that are contaminated or suspected to be contaminated with biohazardous materials.
Jeff Jones, the instructor from GBAC (Global Biorisk Advisory Council), is a Certified Bio-Forensic Restoration Specialist® and a Certified Forensic Operator® with more than 46 years of field experience in Forensic Restoration®. He is a former U.S. Army soldier, former SWAT team leader, and the youngest to attend the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia. He is a past president of the Restoration Industry Association (RIA) and has served as chairman of its forensic council.
By being part of this program, Karen and Brian have brought a refined skillset back to PuroClean of Stuart. The team can now tackle more comprehensive forms of biohazard remediations. Karen and Brian learned how to properly handle pathogens, hoarding, crime scenes, human waste, and unattended death. They were required to confront difficult human elements and the psychology that goes with work like this as a part of the training. This skill set is not one anyone wishes to use, but those who can perform these services serve a vital role in the restoration industry and our communities.
We’re grateful we have a strong team willing to be in this unique position to provide services of this nature. But, it’s always unfortunate when we need to do so. Sadly, we were called upon just 1 week after taking this class to use what we had learned for an unattended-death cleanup. Thankfully, their training was thorough, and the team could get the property back to pre-loss condition.
