As a Hinesburg resident living on a dirt road, we experienced significant
flooding and road damage. Our private road was thoroughly washed out from the
main road. The main roads were also washed out, so we had nowhere to go and no
one to help – not true!!! Neighbors bonded with neighbors, and we helped each
other and those around us. It is an event like this that shows our true colors,
and Vermonters should be proud. A special thank you to the road crews who
worked long hours getting us back to being able to travel the roads again and
VTRANS working on state highways so quickly to make it passable.
Well done, Vermonters, we powered through another July flood.
