PuroClean Assists Hurricane Ian Victims with Relief Kits

On September 28, 2022, Florida experienced one of the most catastrophic hurricanes in the state’s history, Ian. The Category 4 storm ravaged Southwest Florida, with its impact reaching as far as central Florida. It caused extensive damage to commercial and residential properties across the region, resulting in a projected 55 billion dollars in damages.

Although PuroClean of Redmond is 3,000 miles from Florida, we knew we wanted to lend a hand to help victims of Hurricane Ian. Our team was eager to assist in relief efforts for the storm’s victims in any capacity.

Assisting Hurricane Ian Victims From Afar

On October 8, 2022, we partnered with Northshore Community Church and Convoy of Hope to fill relief kits for Hurricane Ian victims. Our 32-person team of employees, friends, and friends were enthusiastic about showing their support for our important cause.

The volunteering event began at nine o’clock in the morning. Our shift’s goal was to fill 6,000 kits within three hours. Alongside 100 fellow volunteers, we placed hygiene essentials in Ziploc bags: toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, shampoo and conditioner, combs, hand sanitizer, and washcloths.

Our incredible group walked the church’s loop, some with kids in hand, while other team members folded thousands of washcloths for the kits.

In less than two hours, our team and fellow volunteers accomplished our goal and finished with time to spare before the next shift’s group arrived.

We were honored to be a part of the volunteering effort and that we had the opportunity to show that our PuroClean work goes beyond damage restoration. Our commitment to helping communities is at the heart of everything we do.
